Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to the questions families ask most about PPEC and Kids In Care.

PPEC (Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care) is a licensed healthcare facility — not a daycare. Children receive skilled nursing care, therapy services, and developmental support from a clinical team. Unlike daycare, PPEC requires a physician's order and serves children with medically complex conditions who need ongoing clinical supervision.

Children under 21 with medically complex conditions who are medically stable may qualify. Common qualifying conditions include cerebral palsy, tracheostomy, ventilator dependency, seizure disorders, G-tube dependency, and other complex medical needs. Call us at (561) 829-7646 and we'll help determine eligibility.

Yes. A physician's order or prescription for PPEC services is required. We can help coordinate with your child's doctor to obtain the necessary documentation.

Yes! All enrolled children receive complimentary door-to-door transportation to and from our facility. Our trained drivers and attendants ensure safe, comfortable transport across Palm Beach and Broward County.

Children arrive between 7:00 and 8:00 AM. Throughout the day, they receive scheduled nursing care, therapy sessions (PT, OT, speech, respiratory), developmental activities, meals, and rest periods — all based on their individualized care plan. Pickup is available until 7:00 PM.

We serve children from birth through age 21.

The timeline varies, but most families complete the enrollment process within 1–2 weeks. We expedite Medicaid verification and intake to get your child started as quickly as possible.

We welcome family visits during designated hours. Siblings are welcome to visit, though our care services are designed specifically for enrolled children with qualifying medical conditions.
